Go Ahead… Make My Day!
Go Ahead… Make My Day!
Here is another of my old articles… that seems so relevant still today! Some people can be so rude, ignorant, and mind numbing-ly asinine to the point of distraction… you really have to wonder how they have made it in life. And the sad part of it is… these people are usually the ones in positions of power.
Never before have I (metaphorically) been kicked , beaten down, spit upon, and left for dead so much as I have been in the last few months.
The moment I walked into the “arena”, opponents whom I had never met, had no beef with, and really had no reason to associate with in the first place, felt the need to lambaste me with all sorts of negative comments about my business.
The arena? Network Marketing. The opponents? Other people who are also involved in network marketing.
You know what I did?
I took one look at their comments and started laughing. I mean, an all out, belly hurting, wake up the neighbors, side splitting,m rip roaring LAUGH! Thinking all the while… Go Ahead… Make My Day! And… Do you want to know the reason WHY I laughed?
Simple… for one thing, what they don’t realize is that they are doing me a favor. By putting down my business, they are actually promoting it! Others will see their comments and wonder “what is this person talking about? I better go see”. When they do, I’ll have a chance to show this person what my company has to offer and maybe they will join me!
In essence, my competition did my job for me!
Wow… what a concept!
Remember, any press can be GOOD press!
Another reason I laughed is because… they don’t know me. They don’t know how well or not I am doing in the business. They have
nothing on which to base their opinions. All they want to do is make themselves seem high and mighty… they want the world to think that they are important… that they are better than everyone else.
Have they ever actually taken the time to find out about my business? Have they ever actually learned about the products? How about the charity work our company is doing to help children in impoverished countries? Do they know any of that?
I didn’t think so.
So, what do I say to people who want to bash me and my business?
I say “go ahead… make my day”.
What people don’t realize is that by making rude comments such as the ones that the “talker” said to me, they are really making the company or program that they are associated with look bad. It especially makes the “talker” look bad. Would you really want to associate with someone like the “talker” who goes around badmouthing anything and everything that they don’t like, understand, or a part of?
I know I don’t.
So, the moral of this story is… Don’t badmouth the competition, trying to run them. In the end… it will only serve to ruin YOU.
