  • 100 grams (3.5 ounces) lean ground beef or steak or cubed chicken
  • 1 or 2 strips of cooked bacon – crumbled
  • 1/2 cup of grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup of Chopped tomato
  • 1 tablespoon finely minced onion
  • 1 clove crushed and minced garlic
  • Dash of garlic powder
  • Dash of onion powder
  • Dash of dried oregano
  • Fresh chopped cilantro to taste
  • Cayenne pepper to taste
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Lettuce leaves


  • Brown ground beef or thoroughly cook the chicken, if that’s what you are using.
  • Add onion, garlic, and spices and a little water and simmer gently for 5-10 minutes.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Top with bacon, cheese, and tomato (if desired)
  • Serve taco style, or wrap them up like a fajita or burrito, in butter lettuce or romaine leaf mock tortillas
