Reach For The Stars!

Have you ever had an idea? Have you ever tried to bring that idea to life? No? Why not? Was it because you were worried about what people would say? That they would disparage your idea? What else stops you from pursuing your ideas? Fear? Unfortunately, people have ideas every day that they simply put out of their minds because of that very fear. Fear is the number one killer of ideas. The goal is to overcome that fear.

Perhaps you are searching for an idea, but can’t seem to come up with anything – you might think that there can no more original ideas in the world, that everything has been thought of. This is where you have to think OUTSIDE of the box. If you can’t think of anything that hasn’t been thought of already, then you need to start moving away from the norm… it’s time to get a new perspective on things. Start with something old and put a fresh new spin on it.

Most people worry about suggesting their ideas because they are afraid of what others will think. These people decide, before even beginning to develop their ideas, that people will think it’s a stupid idea and they will look silly even mentioning it. Yes, it IS a risky undertaking – you do run the risk of looking silly. But, if you do NOT take that risk on your idea, then you have NO chance of succeeding. The idea has just become another failure.

Risk is a measurement of a person. People who won’t take risks because they are trying to preserve what they have. They decide that the chance of losing something (their social standing, their reputation) is greater that the chance that their idea will actually come to pass. It is the people who do take risks, who often end up with more.

“Aim for the moon, if you miss at least you will be among the stars!”

Dare to try new things, strive to aim high, higher than you ever thought it possible that you could go. It’s ok if you miss… just know that if you miss you have still gotten closer to your ultimate goal than you would have had you stayed where you were. Remember, it’s the journey that is the exciting part… It may be difficult, but it’s what is fun. It is this difficulty that makes it worthwhile. If it were easy, then anyone and everyone could do it.

When they say it can’t be done – do it anyway… If YOU don’t do it, no one else will and it will not be done.

It has been said that the wealthiest underground deposits in the world are not in the oil fields of Arabia or Alberta, not in the Natural Gas deposits of the North Sea, not even in the diamond mines of South Africa – they are in the hundreds of thousands of cemeteries around the world. For buried within those graveyards are books that were never written, art never painted, songs never written, companies never started. In those tombs lies the greatest, untouched potential for wealth – ideas.

Do you think Elon Musk, founder of Tesla, would have ever brought his ideas for Space X or his CyberTruck to life if he had any fear of what people would think? How about his idea for sending a car into space? I wonder how many people actually thought that the idea of sending a Tesla Roadster into space to orbit the sun was a good idea. But, he did it and it has brought him an immense amount of publicity and wealth. Who else would have thought of putting a car into space, with a mannequin sitting in the driver’s seat…? It was brilliant!

Now Elon Musk has become a household name.

What ideas can YOU come up with?
